            <title>Jay-Z Reportedly Signs Roc Nation's First Rock Group</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[Jay-Z has reportedly signed rock-oriented group The Ting Tings to his Roc Nation company which would represent the rapper's first non-urban group on the company's artist roster.
if (typeof(gnm_ord)=='undefined') gnm_ord=Math.random()*10000000000000000; if (typeof(gnm_tile) == 'undefined') gnm_tile=1; 						document.write('');
While details are still surfacing, Hov is being credited as bringing the duo under his wing.
Jay-Z's Live Nation-backed Roc Nation, which has a distribution deal with Sony Music, has inked British pop-rockers The Tings Tings, now at work on their sophomore album. The rapper apparently plans to work with the group on the recording. (Hits Daily Double)
Speculation began to grow earlier this month and an unnamed source also confirmed the move.
"Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material, the staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction," the source explained. "Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands across the pond" (The Hip Hop Chronicle)
Jay's "rock" interests were brought to light last summer while attending a Grizzly Bear concert in Brooklyn, New York.
The story of the day, Sunday, August 30th, would have been that, after an opening set by Beach House (who played after Vega) followed by a brief introduction by Senator Chuck Schumer, Grizzly Bear closed out the 2009 Pool Party season at the Williamsburg Waterfront with a beautiful 1+ hour set in front of the Manhattan skyline on a perfect Brooklyn day. Instead, Solange Knowles and her sister Beyonce who brought her husband Jay-Z decided to show up and watch Grizzly Bear from the soundboard. And that become the real topic of conversation for twitterers, texters, and the throngs of people walking toward Bedford around 7:30pm when the concert was over. (Brooklyn Vegan)
The Ting Tings are reportedly working on their sophomore album.
The Ting Tings -- a scrappy, dance-oriented indie pop duo consisting of singer/guitarist Katie White and drummer Jules De Martino -- formed in the Salford district of Manchester, England, in 2006. Quickly signed to the local indie label Switchflicker Records, the Ting Tings released their debut single, "That's Not My Name," in the spring of 2007. Following the limited-edition, tour-only single "Fruit Machine," the Ting Tings signed to major label Columbia Records later that year. "That's Not My Name" rose to the top of the U.K. charts in May 2008, the same month that the duo's debut album, We Started Nothing, appeared. (All Music) ]]></description>

            <title>Tyson Arrested After Scuffle With Paparazzo</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[Mike Tyson allegedly hit a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport and was booked and released on suspicion of misdemeanor battery Wednesday, police said.

 Mike Tyson was traveling with his wife and 10-Year-Old when the incident occured.

Tyson and the unnamed photographer both want to press charges for misdemeanor battery, police said.
Sports Blog: Oprah Won't Approve of Mike Tyson's Behavior
The paparazzo told police that the former heavyweight boxing champion struck him once, airport police spokesman Sgt. Jim Holcomb said. The photographer fell to the ground and was treated for a cut to his forehead at a hospital.
Tyson's spokeswoman Tammy Brook said the boxer was traveling with his wife and 10-month-old child Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzo. The 43-year-old acted in self-defense to protect his child, she said.
"There's a lot of different versions to this story and that's all going to come out later," Holcomb said. "Some witness statements support Tyson's version, others support the photographer's."
&nbsp;Paparazzi often camp out at Los Angeles' largest airport to get shots of celebrities in transit.
"I've heard people were following him into the men's room and trying to take his picture there," said Tyson's defense attorney, David Chesnoff. "My advice to him is going to be to vigorously press charges against what everyone agrees are ridiculously aggressive photographers."
&nbsp;Tyson was cooperative as he waited in a holding cell at the airport police station, Holcomb said. The photographer will also be booked once he is released from the hospital, police said ]]></description>

            <title>Master P Aids HUD To Break Ground On Housing Project</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[Four years after Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast and nearly wiped out the city of New Orleans, entrepreneur Percy Miller, also popularly recognized as No Limit rapper, Master P [click to read], is aiding the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in an effort to rebuild the community. Thursday, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan alongside Master P, celebrated the first day of construction as developers broke ground on the new neighborhood. The B.W. Cooper Housing Projects, formerly known as Calliope Apartments where Master P got his start, is being demolished and will soon be replaced with up-to-date apartment buildings. The new and improved development is being renamed Marrero Commons after the late New Orleans activist and former president of B.W. Cooper's resident management corporation, Yvonne Marrero, who passed away during the hurricane.&nbsp; "I'm honored to be a part of the ground breaking alongside President Obama's right hand man, Secretary Shaun Donovan who shares the same goals as me, which is to help B.W. Cooper residents get back into their new homes," said Master P in a recent press release.Repopulation and restoring homes has been a primary concern since disaster struck in 2005, causing a continuous increase of more than 90 billion dollars in damages. In the B.W. Cooper housing projects alone, 1,000 units were evacuated and the majority of them were demolished. By giving back to the community, Master P with the help of HUD, nearly 1,500 apartments will be built that will be able to house more than 3,077 people. The Marrero Commons is tentatively scheduled to open in early 2010.The philanthropy does not end there, as Master P is also planning to volunteer and donate to One Million Gifts, an organization that helps to feed and clothe one million people for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to under served communities. ]]></description>

            <title>Public Enemy Look To Redefine Music Biz</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[PUBLIC ENEMY REDEFINES THE MUSIC BUSINESS AGAIN, PARTNERS WITH FANS FOR NEW ALBUM To Finance Next Recording Via SellaBand Fan Funding Engine New York, NY (October 6, 2009) --- Iconic hip hop group Public Enemy leads a new revolution in the music business as it announces a partnership with SellaBand.com to finance the recording of their next album through fan funding. The venture brings together two leading forces in independent music to take a powerful step into the future by offering artists control over their own music and giving them the ability to record without artistic or commercial constraints of traditional record companies. Pubic Enemy is the first established act to sign up with SellaBand, which has found great success with independent artists since its European launch in 2006. SellaBand will facilitate the fan funding process for Public Enemy&rsquo;s new album. The band is aiming to raise $250,000 in increments of $25.00. Fans will not only receive an exclusive, numbered copy of the album but will also share in the revenues from this upcoming recording. &ldquo;SellaBand's financial engine model goes about restructuring the music business in reverse,&rdquo; says PE frontman Chuck D. &ldquo;It starts with fans first, then the artists create from there. The music business is built on searching for fans and this is a brand new way for acts to create a new album with fans first, already on board.&rdquo; Longtime champions of self-ownership of music and marketing as well as direct interaction with their fans, Public Enemy see the partnership as a natural evolution of their philosophy about the business of music. Public Enemy was one of the very first acts to release music on MP3, frontman Chuck D is a pioneer in artists rights and artist-owned record labels and his own SLAMJamz Records was launched as an Internet-based label, releasing MP3-only singles by artists as far back as 2001. Already successful in Europe, this venture not only marks the first time SellaBand will work with a well-known act, it also signals their official entry into the US market. It reflects the company&rsquo;s continued growth and dedication to fostering independent music around the globe. &ldquo;Our goal is to empower the artist and their fans, both creatively and commercially,&rdquo; says SellaBand CEO Johan Vosmeijer. &ldquo;Working with Public Enemy is an incredibly exciting way to take the European success we&rsquo;ve built over the past three years and offer it to stateside bands.&rdquo; About Public Enemy: Public Enemy&rsquo;s musical style and incendiary delivery have earned them critical acclaim and millions of fans throughout their career, Public Enemy continues to blaze musical and technological trails with new songs and new media, pulling rap music into the future, all while keeping its musical roots firmly intact. Public Enemy transcends the confines of rap and pop music, remaining one of the African American community's most important messengers, digital music's greatest champions, and a rare rap group whose lyrics are dedicated to analyzing, uplifting and empowering all of humanity. At the close of 1999, The New York Times named Public Enemy&rsquo;s music to their list of the &ldquo;25 Most Significant Albums of the Last Century&rdquo; and in May 2005 The US government&rsquo;s Library of Congress included Fear of a Black Planet in a list of 50 recordings worthy of preserving in the National Recording Registry. Rolling Stone magazine called the group one of the fifty greatest artists of all time, and in 1999 Vanity Fair profiled the group in their Icons of Rock special section. Spin magazine chose two PE albums for their &ldquo;100 Greatest Albums (1985-2005)&rdquo; list, with It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back coming in at #2 and Fear of a Black Planet at #21. The numbers that reflect their extraordinary career are staggering: The band has embarked on over 56 tours, performing over 1300 concerts to fans in 45 countries. Three albums are certified multi-platinum, three more are gold, with four gold singles and a platinum-selling home video. About SellaBand: &rdquo;SellaBand is based in Amsterdam, the creative capital of Europe. Since its launch in August 2006, SellaBand has coordinated recording sessions for 34 artists or acts who had their albums funded by their fans. Over $3,000,000 has been invested in independent bands via www.sellaband.com. With SellaBand, artists retain complete ownership of the works created and have the flexibility to determine which incentives they will offer their fans who fund them. SellaBand&rsquo;s fan funding engine also allows artists the freedom to enter into deals with any label, management company, or publisher and there are no advances to pay back. Artists maintain control over their career and have 100% freedom to create the music that they want to create. SellaBand can also be utlized by management companies, record labels, publishers, sponsors and media companies to fund projects for their own artists while also building the core fan base required to launch an artist or take them to the next stage of their career. ]]></description>

            <title>Humbled’ Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[MSN Reports...
OSLO, Norway - President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.
&nbsp;Nobel observers were shocked by the unexpected choice so early in the Obama presidency, which began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline.
&nbsp;White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Obama woke up to the news a little before 6 a.m. EDT. The White House had no immediate comment on the announcement, which took the administration by surprise.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee decided not to inform Obama before the announcement because it didn't want to wake him up, committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland said.
&nbsp;"Waking up a president in the middle of the night, this isn't really something you do," Jagland said.
The Nobel Committee lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation but recognized initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.
'World's attention'"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future," Jagland said.
Obama's election and foreign policy moves caused a dramatic improvement in the image of the U.S. around the world. A 25-nation poll of 27,000 people released in July by the Pew Global Attitudes Project found double-digit boosts to the percentage of people viewing the U.S. favorably in countries around the world. That indicator had plunged across the world under President George W. Bush.
Still, the U.S. remains at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. Congress has yet to pass a law reducing carbon emissions and there has been little significant reduction in global nuclear stockpiles since Obama took office.

Vote: Is Obama deserving of the prize?

"So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far. He is still at an early stage. He is only beginning to act," said former Polish President Lech Walesa, a 1983 Nobel Peace laureate.
"This is probably an encouragement for him to act. Let's see if he perseveres. Let's give him time to act," Walesa said.
Slap at Bush?The award appeared to be a slap at Bush from a committee that harshly criticized Obama's predecessor for his largely unilateral military action in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The Nobel committee praised Obama's creation of "a new climate in international politics" and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage.
"You have to remember that the world has been in a pretty dangerous phase," Jagland said. "And anybody who can contribute to getting the world out of this situation deserves a Nobel Peace Prize."
Unlike the other Nobel Prizes, which are awarded by Swedish institutions, the peace prize is given out by a five-member committee elected by the Norwegian Parliament. Like the Parliament, the committee has a leftist slant, with three members elected by left-of-center parties. Jagland said the decision to honor Obama was unanimous.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, who won the prize in 1984, said Obama's award shows great things are expected from him in coming years. "It is an award that speaks to the promise of President Obama's message of hope," Tutu said.
Meanwhile, Obama's chief strategist, David Axelrod, told NBC News that the president had not sought the award. "Presidents work hard to bring some issues to the fore internationally and point the world in the direction of solving some very big problems," he said. "I think this is a recognition of that."
Speculation elsewhereUntil seconds before the award, speculation had focused on a wide variety of candidates besides Obama: Zimbabwe's Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, a Colombian senator, a Chinese dissident and an Afghan woman's rights activist, among others. The Nobel committee received a record 205 nominations for this year's prize, though it was not immediately apparent who nominated Obama.
"The exciting and important thing about this prize is that it's given to someone ... who has the power to contribute to peace," Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said.
Obama is the third sitting U.S. president to win the award: President Theodore Roosevelt won in 1906 and President Woodrow Wilson was awarded the prize in 1919.

            <title>Top 10 mistakes Music Artists make</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[by David Hooper If you want to get a record deal, get people to your shows, or sell music like crazy, the answer isn&rsquo;t some kind of &ldquo;magic pill&rdquo; website that you post your music on, blindly sending out a bunch of demos, or anything to do with having good music&hellip; although good music certainly helps. The answer is to develop a mindset that naturally attracts people to what you&rsquo;re doing as well as an understanding of how the music business game is played. As you develop as a person, your music career will develop with you. Sounds crazy, but it&rsquo;s true, and I&rsquo;ve seen it time and time again, with thousands of acts that I&rsquo;ve worked with, from garage bands, to the guys selling out arenas. Of course, part of developing includes making mistakes along the way. Check out these ten common music business mistakes, and ways to avoid them&hellip; 10. Being too difficult (or too nice) First of all, let&rsquo;s get this clear&hellip; Just because you wrote a few good songs and recorded them, it doesn&rsquo;t mean the world revolves around you. Lots of people write and record good songs, so get in line. Contrary to what the online rumor mill or media would have you believe, people in the music business are involved because they love music, and they&rsquo;re not making enough to deal with jerks. And they won&rsquo;t deal with jerks. If you&rsquo;re a pain, they&rsquo;re just go to the next guy, who also writes good songs, but has a better attitude. With that said, don&rsquo;t be too nice. You don&rsquo;t have to say yes to everything. Pick your battles. If there is something you really feel strongly about, don&rsquo;t settle for anything less. Bottom line: Keep your ego in check and behave with courtesy and respect. At the same time, don&rsquo;t let anyone treat with you anything less. 9. Trying to convince people of anything&hellip; You play music, and people have strong opinions about music. Either people get what you&rsquo;re doing or they don&rsquo;t. So, some reviewer, booking agent, or manager doesn&rsquo;t like your new album. Let it go! Don&rsquo;t try to convince him he&rsquo;ll like it better after a second listen. He won&rsquo;t. And the more you press him to give your music another shot, the more he&rsquo;ll remember how annoying you were. This means he&rsquo;ll be far less open to ever listening to you again. There are a lot of people who won&rsquo;t &ldquo;hear it&rdquo; when you approach them. So what? Move on. There are plenty of other people in this business who can help you. Go find the people who do &ldquo;hear it&rdquo; and put your energy into building good relationships with them instead. 8. Looking for industry approval There was a time when the &ldquo;industry&rdquo; had a lot more pull when it came to breaking an artist, getting them distributed, and everything else. This is a new time, so we&rsquo;re playing with different rules now. Distribution is easy. Every day, more and more albums and songs are being sold online, physically and digitally. Recording music is easier than ever. You are not limited by a lack of options for getting something recorded that sounds professional. But more importantly, once you get a recording together, you don&rsquo;t need the industry to tell you your music is worthy. The consumers, the people who buy music, are really the only opinions that matter. And when you have the love of the consumers, the industry will come around. The thing is, in the music industry, technology has changed faster than mindset. Stop believing you are at the mercy of any record label executive. You&rsquo;re not. Connect directly with your fans on your terms. The feedback, loyalty and money you receive from them will be far more gratifying than you spending your time beating your head against a wall trying to figure out a way to get an approving nod from a record label. 7. Not building strong relationships with fans People aren&rsquo;t stupid. They know when they&rsquo;re being marketed to. They know when you&rsquo;re looking to sell them something. Do they mind? No. In fact, if you have a good relationship with your fans, they won&rsquo;t mind being marketed to, and if you do it well, they look forward to being marketed to. However, they have to know you care. Building relationships with fans take time. You have to show them you care. Do things like: &bull; Give them a few free songs to download. &bull; Have message board on your website and build a community there. &bull; Do a &ldquo;fan appreciation&rdquo; show. &bull; Record a holiday album or an EP that you give out exclusively to members of your fan club. Show them in special ways that you not only care, but that you&rsquo;re willing to go the extra mile to show your appreciation. In turn, they will buy your music, travel to see you play, call radio stations on your behalf, and promote you all over the web. Every day &ndash; no matter if you&rsquo;re busy recording, on the road, or at home worrying about how you&rsquo;re going to find the money to make your project happen &ndash; do something (no matter how small the gesture is) to reach out to your fans. 6. Not &ldquo;getting&rdquo; how the fan/artist relationship works You&rsquo;re the leader and your fans do the following. You make the offer, they choose whether or not to accept. Take charge, record the music, play the shows, print the t-shirts, and let them have the options of buying your album, coming to see you, or getting something to wear. The average person has enough leadership duties to deal with in his or her own day. People are looking for somebody else to take control, so take control and let them ride along for a little while. 5. Laying Everything on the Table&hellip; You&rsquo;re a rock star. You&rsquo;re living the dream. Keep up that fantasy. Don&rsquo;t tell people how broke you are, that you&rsquo;re still living with your mother, or anything else that breaks the image of you fans have in their minds. One of the reasons people like music is because they have the opportunity to live vicariously through the people they are listening to. When you are on stage, they&rsquo;re up there with you. When you&rsquo;re on the road in your tour bus, they&rsquo;re riding shotgun. Don&rsquo;t take that away. Give them insight into your life and what it&rsquo;s like in your world, but always remember, you&rsquo;re not just selling music &ndash; you&rsquo;re also selling a persona. 4. Thinking the key to success is just musical talent, money, or looks Yes, if we&rsquo;re talking about pop music, MTV, or the major label system, a certain amount of a contrived &ldquo;image&rdquo; probably helps sell records. Obviously, money helps things. And it&rsquo;s always good if you can play and sing. But &ldquo;image&rdquo; without marketing won&rsquo;t get you on MTV. Good songs without marketing won&rsquo;t get you on the radio. You can play well, have money, and look like a model, but if you don&rsquo;t have the marketing to back you up, none of it matters. You know what? If you don&rsquo;t have a good, solid marketing plan in place, everything else doesn&rsquo;t matter so much. 3. Giving up power Keep control as long as you can. Yes, a label deal will give you opportunity that being an indie won&rsquo;t. And a professional manager has connections that you don&rsquo;t. But when you sign with these guys, you&rsquo;re handing over your career to somebody else. Nobody cares as much about your career than you do. When you and your talent are the most important commodity you have to offer, do not give up your power easily and without a damn good reason. Your music is worth something. You are worth something. Think of your career as being &ldquo;virtual real estate&rdquo; which, if marketed correctly, will pay dividends for years to come. So, treat it like that. 2. Jumping at every opportunity You don&rsquo;t have to say yes to everything. In fact, sometimes, saying no to something can be more beneficial to your career than saying yes. Why do you say yes to things? Take a look at your standards and make sure they&rsquo;re high enough. As an example, just because a club has a PA system, it doesn&rsquo;t mean that it&rsquo;s worth playing there. There are some gigs that just aren&rsquo;t worth playing. There are some connections that just aren&rsquo;t worth developing. When you say yes to something, especially something that takes your time, you&rsquo;re likely saying no to a host of other things by default. Leave yourself open to saying yes to the opportunities that really matter. Trust your own judgment. If something doesn&rsquo;t feel right and you want to say no, it&rsquo;s okay. At that moment, you may worry you&rsquo;re passing up a great opportunity and will be missing out. The reality is better opportunities (that are a better fit for you) will come and you if you are open and ready for them. 1. Not getting help You don&rsquo;t know everything. This business has been around for a long time &ndash; long before you were involved. Read books, get advice from people who work in the industry and keep studying every aspect of the industry. Don&rsquo;t be afraid to ask for help. You can bypass a lot of the problems you&rsquo;re likely to run into simply by asking people who have already been in, and dealt with, the situations you find yourself in. Remember this: Time is worth more than money. You can always earn more money, but you have a limited amount of time. Don&rsquo;t waste your time. If you don&rsquo;t know something, or need specific help, don&rsquo;t be afraid to pay somebody to help you deal with whatever obstacle you face. Don&rsquo;t let anything stop you from having all the knowledge and know-how you need to have the success you aspire to have. ]]></description>

            <title>NFL Wrap-Up: Week 3, Epic Wins &amp; Epic Fails</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[NFL Wrap-Up: Week 3 By Will &ldquo;Deshair&rdquo; Foskey
 There is a reason why people say, &ldquo;Never bet on an NFL game!&rdquo; And it has nothing to do with the highs and lows of gambling or the integrity of the game. Tell the truth. Press the up arrow if you picked the Detroit Lions to beat the Washington Redskins. Just as I thought, no clicking sounds. The Lions led by the Drake of the Gridiron, Matthew Stafford will run this town, if only for a week. Please, hold the champagne my fellow D-Towners; your schedule over the next three weeks is nothing to get tipsy over.
&nbsp;
Brett Favre fan or not, didn&rsquo;t that conniving S.O.B. pull out a big one against Mike Singletary&rsquo;s San Francisco 49er&rsquo;s? I understand that football is a team game, but don&rsquo;t say that to the kicker that misses the game winning field goal during the Superbowl. When your teammates need you, you better pull through. And wow, Brett with two &ldquo;t&rsquo;s&rdquo;, you proved your worth. And now your Minnesota Vikings and the team you&rsquo;ve rebounded off of, The New York Jets are 3-0. Feeling good Brett? You should be&hellip; next Monday Night you finally get what you&rsquo;ve always wanted; a clean shot at the team that sent you out the pasture, the Green Bay Packers. And wait up, when did you start winning in domes?
&nbsp;
Speaking of the J-E-T-S Jets, looking good. That defense is air tight. And the rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez is humbled and playing within the system. Although I just heard a statement from the coach, Rex Ryan that he is hoping for a Superbowl appearance this season to match his father&rsquo;s (Buddy Ryan) first season as the Jets coach. You know what, I like the Jets, just because they don&rsquo;t mind speaking their peace. Hey Kerry Rhodes, we are still waiting for you to speak your peace with us at AHH. Let&rsquo;s see what you got!
&nbsp;
OK, I am Michael Vick&rsquo;d out. He played in his first game that counts in like eight years and I am happy for him. But I am done. I am done with the post game interviews for someone that only gained 30 all-purpose yards. I am done with hearing about The Wildcat offense that nobody wants to run, except for the Dolphins. Michael wants to be the starting QB, and I&rsquo;m sorry Philly, but signing Jeff Garcia as a buffer from this happening was as lame as, well, Lil&rsquo; Mama doing anything. An NFL rule states that a third string QB can&rsquo;t take any direct snaps under center, until the fourth quarter. It&rsquo;s ok, Donovan. You&rsquo;ll have your job back by week 9 when you are cleared to play (just my observation).
&nbsp;
Oh, I&rsquo;m sorry, there&rsquo;s a Monday night game&hellip; The Cowboy&rsquo;s vs. The Panthers. I need to hear from your fans, because I don&rsquo;t want to say a word. As a matter of fact, I want to hear from every NFL fan about their team&rsquo;s play this past weekend. Which team will receive the most love? And which team will get buried in the dirt next to Bad Boy Entertainment.

            <title>Nas Shaky About Next Solo LP</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[Grammy-nominated rapper Nas recently spoke on the status of his upcoming solo album and said he was &quot;scared&quot; to discuss certain topics in light of his publicized child support case and relationship with estranged wife, Kelis . According to &quot;God's Son ,&quot; the rapper is having issues balancing out his personal and publicized life in the music. &quot;This is a record that, right now, I'm scared of making,&quot; Nas said of the album. &quot;I don't know what's gonna happen, as far as I don't know what I'm gonna say. I feel like I've put so much of my personal life out there, and I feel like I'm one of the sort of guys you don't really hear about [though] paparazzi or fan magazines all the time. But I just feel like my life is so much out there [now] that it's kind of like -- man, I don't even know how to put into words how I feel about putting this record together. I'm a little nervous, to tell you the truth. That's all I can say.&quot; (MTV ) Nas announced plans to release his tenth solo album last July and hinted at what fans could expect from its overall sound and content. &quot;It's funny, drama is something that definitely kicks a fire underneath artists,&quot; he said in an interview. &quot;But I try not to make that my focus. I'm trying to have peace and love. My sh*t right now is age-appropriate for myself. I love everything, most of the things that are going on musically. But my music will talk about what I see, how I see it, and it should be interesting. My last things were about what I felt about hip-hop and what I felt about race matters. This new thing will be a natural thing. I have a few things that I feel like doing, but who knows what it will be.&quot; (Billboard ) He is also working on the collaboration project Distinct Relatives alongside Damian Marley . &quot;I liked his music and what he does,&quot; Nas explained in an interview last month. &quot;The feeling was mutual. So we started working on it and thought it might as well be an album. Hopefully [it'll be released in] the fall. We have a few more things to tweak. Reggae is one of the roots of hip-hop. Hip-hop music has helped reggae in its transition periods. Together we kind of wanted to give people that. To find the roots of reggae and hip-hop. Of course, Africa is the main theme that made us put this album together. (World Herald ) Prior to recently being spotted together attending a New York fashion event, Nas and Kelis made headlines over the summer over their child support payment debates. Kelis, expected to deliver their first child next month, said in a court filing she wants her soon-to-be ex-husband to give her $20,000 a month for baby supplies. The &quot;Bossy&quot; singer said a baby nurse, nanny and other staff, as well as strollers, cribs and other baby supplies for homes in Los Angeles and New York , cost money. Kelis, 29, who grew up in Harlem, said she hasn't toured in more than a year and relies on Nas, 35, to maintain her lifestyle. (New York Daily News ) No further information has been provided as of now. ]]></description>

            <title>Rick Ross Reportedly Robbed By Female Fans</title>
            <link>http://www.flench.com</link>
            <description><![CDATA[According to a CBS news report, the "Boss" and his associates had valuables stolen from them in a Nashville hotel.
"Metro police are looking for party crashers at the downtown Hilton Hotel," a news reporter said in a broadcast. "They're suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of a rapper's personal belongings right out of his hotel room. The crime was caught on tape and the police need your help to identify the thieves...A call to Crime Stoppers can earn you lots of cash." (CBS News)
Details of the stolen items landed online Tuesday (September 22) morning.
In Rick Ross' case, he was apparently seduced before his shines got the boost. According to CBS affiliate Channel 5 News in Nashville, the Boss got got for over $60,000 worth of his personal belongs including jewelry and a laptop. The four sticky-fingered women then proceeded to do their best Set It OffLime Wire) impersonation, sans the guns and violence, by relieving Ricky of his items and making what they thought was a clean getaway. But cameras in the hotel have caught the suspects and now Crime Stoppers are looking for them. (
Ross associate Brisco was recently the victim of a publicized robbery which took place in Miami last July.
The City of Miami Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Barber ShopMiami New Times) located at 6301 NW 6 Avenue. The robbery occurred on July 29, 2009, at approximately 12:51 PM. A local rapper, "Brisco" after a photo shoot, went into the shop for a hair cut when four black men invaded the store with hand guns terrifying four customers. One offender pistol-whipped the rapper and demanded his car keys before taking his Range Rover. (
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem was also the victim of a hotel robbery during the MTV Movie Awards in June, however, he later said only a Nike watch was stolen.
Eminem is not having a good week. The Michigan-born rapper had thousands of dollars worth of items stolen from his Los Angeles hotel room on Sunday night, including a $60K diamond necklace and his personal laptop. Thankfully, Em's new album, Relapse, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart - selling a whopping 608,000 copies in its first week - so he'll have the funds to recover what he lost.
