Biography
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois a young talent Ion VanShawn a.k.a Ion Da Don Da Da emerged. He attended Chicago Vocational High school where his focus and himself developed into the person he is today. When asked what's at the top of his priorities Ion said his family. Not only did he get his father's name Ion also carries some of his traits and interest. His father has been involved in music since Ion was a little boy, he belongs to a band MFS, Music for your soul. Ion's passion is music in general, he loves to make, listen and feel music, "It's like an outlet for me to say and do what I want in a way that I want to do it" Ion first came to realize his passion for music in the 7th grade. One day while just hanging out with friends they decided to write a rap, and he took off from there. Everyone has that someone that they look up to but for Ion his inspiration is his future self, "I look up to my future self, you know not knowing exactly what the future has in store but the way I see it and the way I see my self, I'm looking forward to it" His long term goals are to turn his own label into a successful family business and to be known, in his words "I want to be the captain of my own ship, leader of my own destiny". His only regret is that he waited so long to commit to his dream. Ion is an artist and if he must be placed in category he considers himself to be in the hip hop, rap category, because he talks about life. "I just want people to know that as long as you know you can do it and you're willing to commit to it, it can be done" Ion is currently a truck driver, which he enjoys doing for the time being, its a means to an end. It also gives him an outlet to promote his music and perform at various locations across the country "I go from state to state meeting all kinds of people and getting connections along the way".
