Biography

Their music is raw, honest, always real. Getting back to the basics of hip-hop music. . . .East Point Souljas consist of a group unlike no other. Each member adds its own uniqueness and flava. Being lyricists on a mission to save the hip hop movement. Rizz, Souljah Glizz, C.O.L.D. CHILL and Smoke Hogg are giving music what it is missing from content to something you can relate to and are a part of and that is their love and passion for music.

C.O.L.D. CHILL lays it all on the line, no-holds barred; “Music is going in a direction were it is becoming irrelevant. The generation that has control of the rap game is uneducated. They are not applying themselves as much as they should. What we are going to do is go back to basics. The basics being were the content means something and the hook and the content coincide. Because being on this outside the box stuff and trying to standout is really oversaturated.”
The hood in which they represent East Point out of Southern Indiana found that when they hear the music of EPS it is something that they can stand behind. Their success started with releasing the single “What’s Up Playa” which was the debut single on the Ruffside compilation. EPS continues to keep it real without a question: with the eager audience they created these multi-talented lyricists, who have developed and went even deeper into what music is about and its impact.
The LP title tells it all: “The Package”, which consist of everything that you need in music: content, realness, hooks that you will find yourself singing and getting back to the Scarface days when music meant something.

“EPS is unlike any other group currently out there, because we bring clarity and a uniqueness that you can’t find elsewhere. We have all the right tools to make it in this industry. We are a group that is undeniable. We are going bring it back . . .way back….and recover hip-hop from its extinction,” says founding member Souljah Glizz.

Drawing on influences of artist like Scarface, Bun B, Outkast and Dr. Dre to name a few these artists inspired them during their formative years. But also waiting for the opportunity to collaborate with those who are making an impact at the moment. “I would like to work with like Lil Wayne. People know that you are making noise when you work with Wayne and Gucci. Even though working with these artists would be a great opportunity our focus is being who we are . . . being authentic. Not on this Copycat Syndrome,” says group member of EPS Smoke Hogg.

Getting to this place where they could experience the range of their creativity as well as being ready to fulfill their dreams of success in the music industry. EPS is ready to break away from raps current state. “This isn’t about us! It’s about the people who are rooting for our success and also those who believed in us who aren’t around anymore. This is our opportunity to give back to the streets in which we are from,” says North Carolina native Rizz.

The hard work is evident throughout THA PACKAGE, which fittingly includes tracks like “Anotha Level”, “Imma Make a Million” and “Go Hard”. This LP shows their range and how versatile that they are as a group.

UNDENIABLE, indeed, and a whole lot of blood, sweat and dedication. The result is an amazing album that reinforces EPS as one-of-a-kind, passionate, honest and remarkable lyricist who are carving their way in the world of hip-hop. There is no doubt that EPS is the real thing.
